We think a company's hiring process is a pretty solid reflection of what its like to work there. With our culture holding inclusivity and transparency in such high regard, we want you to know what to expect from our hiring process up-front.
We also recognize there's a lot of work to be done to make the games industry as inclusive, accommodating, and equitable as it can be. We warmly and openly invite folks from under-represented groups to apply for any open roles at Good Trouble. We do not require a university degree for any role in the studio.
In general, we're looking for 3 things: craft, communication skills, and cultural fit. We evaluate your craft by looking at your previous work, such as games you've shipped, your portfolio, even side-projects. If we can make a decision just by looking at work you've done in the past, we won't require a skills test. Your communication skills and cultural fit are things we take in as we get to know you and learn about your goals, experience, and working style.
